How will the John Pelphrey era begin in Fayetteville? Can he finish the job that Stan Heath started and return the Razorbacks back to the top of the college basketball mountain? Coach Pelphrey, a former University of Kentucky player, comes to Arkansas after spending five years at the University of South Alabama. Pelphrey is fresh off of a 24-7 record at South Alabama that included the Sun Belt Conference title and their first NCAA Tournament bid since 1998.

Helping Coach "Pel" achieve his goal of returning the Razorbacks to prominence is a healthy roster that includes the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in senior Steven Hill. Hill's presence gives the Razorbacks a defensive safety-valve that many teams do not have. Joining Hill is SEC Freshman of the year Patrick Beverly and senior guard Gary Ervin. The Razorback roster also features a number of exciting newcomers, led by instate recruit Michael Sanchez.
