What can Buffalo fans expect from first-year coach Jeff Bzdelik, who, after a 2-year stay coaching for the Air Force Academy, joins Colorado with a rebuilding job on his hands? If his stay at Air Force is any indication, they are getting a talented coach who went 50-16 in his 2-year stay at Colorado Springs. While Coach Bzdelik does have to upgrade the talent in Colorado, his cupboard isn't completely bare; although it's close (7-20 teams aren't known for rosters bustling with stud players).

Leading the Buffs will be Richard Roby, an athletic, adequate shooter who averaged 17 points last year. He'll be joined by a quick-but-undersized starting 5. Bzdelik's style should keep the Buffaloes competitive in many games and it should help mask the talent differential they will face in the Big-12. However, if fans are patient with Coach Bzdelik, they should be rewarded; an idea supported by the early signing of Toby Veal out of Georgia, unfortunately, Veal won't be available until next season.

When dealing with a rebuilding project, the key for the fanbase is patience. Yes, a lot of fans want a quick fix, but these are hard to come by when the talent level has been depleted. However, one of the best things a fan can experience is to be there from the beginning to watch their team grow. This way, the rewards of improvement are that much sweeter.
