There's a lot of hype surrounding Tom Crean's latest version of his Marquette Golden Eagles and considering the roster that's in place, it's pretty easy to see why. Starting with a their dynamic backcourt of Dominic James, Wesley Matthews and Jerel McNeal, the Golden Eagles guards are as talented and deep as any team in the Big East. When you throw in the likes of sophomores David and Maurice Acker as well as freshman Scott Christoperson, it's easy to see why Marquette's backcourt is being touted. Not many teams have this much depth at guard.

The frontline, while not being as talented as their backcourt counterparts, still boasts players capable of turning heads, including senior center Ousmane Barro and wingman Dan Fitzgerald, the Eagles' best 3-point shooter. Combined with the 3-guard line-up mentioned above, Marquette has the makings of a team that will give many opponents fits. They could also make a run back to the Final Four, a place they haven't been since Dwayne Wade took them there in 2002-03

Will this be the best Marquette team Tom Crean has fielded since he took over? It certainly has the makings of being so, even without a player as good as Dwayne Wade. The Golden Eagles have depth and talent, a standard moniker for the top teams in Big East, meaning their road will be a little harder than other conferences.
