The question on many Panther fans is whether or not their team can overcome the loss of Aaron Gray, something Coach Jamie Dixon doesn't seem to be as worried about. While it's hard to quantify what the loss of a player like Gray can do to your program, Coach Dixon thinks it will allow his team to get out and run more. He also thinks this will allow him to feature a more attractive style of play, something would-be recruits definitely consider.

Leading this year's Panther attack will be Levance Fields and Ronald Ramon in the backcourt. Both will be called upon to supply a good amount of scoring and necessary ball-handling. If they can get an inside presence to go along with forwards Mike Cook and Sam Young, the Panthers should be in a position to compete with any team in the Big East and beyond. When the season starts, expect to see Tyrell Biggs in the middle, but there are some newcomers that will challenge him if he doesn't produce as expected. The players expected to push Biggs are JUCO transfer Cassin Diggs and freshmen DeJuan Blair and Gary McGhee.

Will this fast-paced system implemented by Coach Dixon be enough to overcome the loss of Gray? In preseason reports, the coach certainly thinks it will help a whole lot. Keep in mind that this kind of up-and-down play is not only attractive to players, but the fans have a tendency to fall in love with it as well. With that in mind, you will probably be disappointed if you miss a game as the Panthers challenge for the Big East title and beyond.
