History
The Florida Gators began playing football in 1906 and were coached by James Forsythe for three winning seasons. In the mid 1960's the Gators set the team record for wins at Florida with 70-a record that stood for 30 years. They won their first SEC championship in 1991.

The Swamp
The Gators have had two streaks at "The Swamp" in the 1990's: a 23 game win streak from 1990-1993 and a 30 game streak from 1994-1999. The Gators have outscored their opponents at "The Swamp" by a combined total of 3,980-1,558. The Gators have only lost five times at home to a team ranked below the top five since 1990.
