Coors Field is located in Denver, Colorado and is home to the Colorado Rockies. The Field is named after Coors Brewing Company of Golden, Colorado. Coors Field is two blocks from Union Station in Denver's Lower Downtown and includes 63 luxury suites and 4,500 club seats.

Coors Field is part of Denver's plan to improve their sports venues. It was originally planned to seat only 43,800, but after the Rockies first season the plans were altered and new seats were added mostly in the center field section, the Rockpile. Most of the seats are green; however the seats in the 20th row of the upper deck are purple to mark the city's one mile elevation point!

There has only been one no-hitter at Coors Field and that was thrown by Hideo Nomo of the Los Angeles Dodgers on September 17, 1996. Coors Field is said to be one of the most prolific offensive ballparks ever made. It has been estimated that a home run that is hit 400 feet in sea level Yankee Stadium would travel about 408 feet in Atlanta and as far as 440 feet in Mile High City! Wind can play a much greater role than altitude in turning fly balls into home runs, however. Another effect that altitude is said to have on baseball is the influence of thinner air on pitching. Curve balls will be less snappy and fastballs will get about an extra six inches of giddy-up due to the decrease in resistance the thinner air provides.

Weather
Anyone who has watched the Rockies or Denver Broncos on television knows early spring and fall can be downright chilly into all-out cold. Snow can fall as late as April, so be sure to dress warmly if you decide to visit Coors Field any time other than in the summer.

Parking
There are approximately 6,000 parking spaces at Coors Field. Within a 20-minute walk of the stadium there are another 40,000 spots in private lots. If you are here in April or October, it might be worth it to pay the extra dollars for close parking.

Directions
The Ballpark can be reached a number of ways. From the north: Take I-25 south to Exit #213 (Park Ave.) From the northeast: Travel southwest on I-76 to I-25 South, Exit #213 (Park Ave.) From the west: Travel east on I-70 to I-25 South, Exit #213 (Park Ave.) From the east: Go west on I-70 to I-25 South, Exit #213 (Park Ave.) From the south: Travel north on I-25 to Exit #207A (Broadway/Lincoln). Proceed downtown on Lincoln, follow signs to ballpark.
