On Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, voters in the six-county area that comprises Metro Denver approved a plan to construct a new football stadium in Denver. Construction began on the 76,125-seat stadium in mid-1999 and official groundbreaking was held on August 17, 1999. The Broncos' new home is located in the vicinity of Mile High Stadium, just west of Interstate-25.
The stadium includes 1.7 million square feet of space (approximately twice that of Mile High) with amenities such as wider concourses, wider seats, more restrooms, elevators, escalators and full-service accommodations for people with disabilities.
Weather
The Broncos have played several ice-cold games at home, but Denver's fall and winter usually is mild, more so than NFL cities in the Midwest and Northeast. Only three Broncos home games has the temperature at kickoff been below 20 degrees, and at none since 1978.
Concessions
Nearly everthing can be found here. Spicy flavored foods such as Tamales, Burritos, Jalapeno Sausages, Jalapeno Stuffed Pretzels and Deluxe Nachos to your regular stadium fare.
Parking
Single-game parking permits and season-parking permits are still available in parking lots M & R for $30 per game and N & P for $20 per game. We will offer cash parking in these lots as well for the single-game rates. Access from I-25 is via Colfax Avenue and southbound Federal Blvd at Howard Place. Stadium parking lots will open four hours prior to game time.
