Ralph Wilson Stadium Information

Ralph Wilson Stadium
1 Bills Drive • Orchard Park, NY 14127

The Bills became one of the first teams ever to sell the naming rights to their stadium. In 1998, the stadium was renamed Ralph Wilson Stadium after the Bills owner. The Buffalo Bills christened Ralph Wilson Stadium on August 17, 1973. The stadium consists of three decks of blue and red seats. The lower and second levels of seats circle the entire Fieldturf playing field. An upper level of seats are located on both sides of the playing field. The playing field is located 50 feet below ground level, eliminating long walks to the upper deck.

Weather
An old joke has it that there are two seasons in Buffalo: winter and the Fourth of July. That may not seem so funny in the fourth quarter of a January playoff game. The truth is, the NFL loads up the Bills' home schedule early so that most years they play only one regular-season game late in the season. At its worst, Buffalo weather can be brutally cold, snowy, and windy.

Parking
In theory, the stadium lots hold 15,000 cars, but in reality they hold only about 11,000—unless it snows, in which case plowed piles of snow take up another 1,000 spaces. That means about 8,000 or more cars must be absorbed by the lot at the college across the street, at nearby restaurants and bars, and in the yards of local residents ready to make a quick buck. If you really want to park in a stadium lot, arrive at least two hours before the game. Many fans arrive early for elaborate tailgate parties.
