The Texans partnered with the Livestock Show and Rodeo in building a stadium. Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new stadium, which was built near the Astrodome, began in early 2000. The stadium is capable of accommodating both football and rodeos. In October 2000, Reliant Energy purchased the naming rights, thus the facility was named Reliant Stadium.

Weather
Being that the roof at Reliant Stadium can open and close to adjust to the weather conditions, you can expect year-round, climate-controlled comfort.

Concessions
With choices such as Cactus Cantina and 5 star dogs. Along the sideline area concourses are very long margarita bars offering the frozen stuff in regular glasses, with the large size served in some of the weirdest shaped souvenir glasses you ever saw. You will also find several items with that distinctive Texas flair, including bar-b-que, over-size hot dogs, and grilled Italian sausages. Traditional ballpark fare are also available.

Parking
Satellite private parking is limited, mostly due to the vast size of the stadium property, and the south boundary which abuts the 610 loop. Parking lot maps and policies are spelled out on the Texans website.
