Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals have looked like a team that’s ready to turn to the corner and compete with the NFL’s best for a couple of seasons now. Is this the year they succeed in doing so? After winning five out of their last eight games in 2007, Cardinals fans want more. To be successful in 2008, the Cardinals coaching staff, led by Ken Whisenhunt, needs Matt Leinart to perform as expected. It’s true Kurt Warner led the team in 2007 after Leinart was injured but the quarterback from USC has been named the starter. Now it’s time to perform.
If he’s going to excel, Leinart will have a lot of weapons to choose from, including two of the top receivers in the NFL in Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. The Cardinals also have a ground game for Leinart to rely on, headed by Edgerrin James. These positions were bolstered by a successful draft where they took receiver Early Doucet from LSU and running back Tim Hightower from Richmond. Both are expected to provide much-needed depth for the Cardinals and even though they are NFL rookies, they will be counted on for valuable minutes. Once you add a defense led by a strong defensive secondary, Cardinals fans have reason to be excited about 2008.
With their brand new, state-of-the-art stadium, a hungry fanbase, a talented coaching staff and young team with lots of ability, the mood around the Arizona Cardinals is really high. Because of that, tickets to Cardinals games are getting harder and harder to find. With the help of Ticket Solutions, you’ll never have to worry about missing an Arizona Cardinals game again, including the sold out contests. The Cardinals look like a team that can a lot of noise in the NFC West and as a fan, you owe it to yourself to be there as it happens.
The Arizona Cardinals are the oldest existing professional American football club in the United States, which began as an amateur athletic club team in Chicago, named Morgan Athletic Club. The name then changed to the Racine Cardinals, but was disbanded in 1906 and didn’t reform until 1913. In 1922, the team was renamed again as the Chicago Cardinals. They received their first NFL Championship in 1925 and won their last NFL Championship game in 1947. In 1960, the team moved to St. Louis, but in 1988 moved to Arizona and became the Phoenix Cardinals. They started playing their games in Sun Devil Stadium in 1994 and thus became the Arizona Cardinals.
